Photo Documentation of Anti-Immigrant Vandalism at UA Mock Wall
UA Mock wall organizers were appalled over the weekend to find artwork and information about migrant deaths torn and scattered on the ground of the UA mall -- along with a mock corpse of a lynched migrant.

The vandalism was discovered on Sunday, March 27th.  In a separate incident, the day before, the Palestinian portion of the wall was uprooted and vandalized.  Similarly, the mock wall organizers are urging university and police authorities to label this act a hate crime.

The mock corpse strung up on the fence was reminiscent of the terrorization of the Jim Crow and Segregation era against black Americans and was especially disturbing to the organizers.  The face was gruesomely painted to depict it as bleeding from the eyes. Stretched into a crucified position, the hands had nails driven through them and portions of the hands and nails were painted red.  An immigrant rights sign was hung around the dummy’s head, painted red simulating blood dripping from the head.  Decrying this malicious incivility, organizers are upset most by the inhumane ignorance that led the vandals to evoke the execution of migrants while also desecrating memorials commemorating the dead.
